  • The Simple Woman's Daybook~

Outside my window... is where you will find me this morning.  I'm on the patio letting the sprinkler do my work this morning.

I am thinking... about our plans this year for homeschool, and pray that Sam is really ready to begin where his placement test shows.

I am thankful for... ice!  My throat still hurts (day 8) so I'm still eating chipped ice for comfort.

From the learning rooms... I'm still working on lesson plans.  We have a date of 8/3 as our start date, but will actually hit the books as soon as I finish up the lesson plans.

From the kitchen... a simple pasta meal tonight.  I'm still not feeling well.

I am wearing... purple shorts and a t-shirt.  I do not match.. and I do not care.  =P

I am creating... lesson plans and chore schedule for the upcoming school year.

I am going... no where!  In fact, I have to call to cancel our plans to attend a BBQ today.  I just don't have the energy.

I am reading... Crazy Love, Framing Your Worldview, and The Good Life

I am hoping... I'm over this by Sunday since I am on nursery duty.

I am hearing... birds, the sprinkler, and a lawn mower.

Around the house... my son bought me a Swiffer Vac.. so after it's charged up, I'm going to give it a go on my floors.

One of my favorite things... cold pizza for breakfast.. mmmmmm

A few plans for the rest of the week... focus on the things that need my attention.  I'm leading a Bible study on Wednesday nights and need the rest of my week to go smooth so I can pour into those who come to learn.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

This is where I'd like to be right now..

  • Sam's the man!

Sam found Jeff's wedding band on the floor in the office!  Needless to say, that little boy is getting a blessing today!  Thanks for praying!!

  • Jeff's wedding band..

He lost it today when we were at the zoo.  He had to take it off to go into the stingray exhibit.  He had a bad feeling, but you can't wear anything on your hands or wrist.  Please pray that it turns up.  We aren't sure if it was lost at the zoo or somewhere else.  He is beside himself..

Sam and I were "well enough" to go to the zoo, but I think it would have been better on us if we had stayed home.. on so many different areas now...

  • Your love..

Looking back, I see Your hand at work in my life, even when i didn't think You were there.  When I felt so alone... I really wasn't.  You were always there.  You are always here.  It still amazes me that when I was the most unlovable, You still loved me.

Just the thought of that alone is humbling to me.  The way You love.  I cannot conceive it.  My flesh gets in the way.  Teach me to love like that, as much as is humanly possible for me.

Your Word speaks a lot about love, so I know this is one area I need a make over in, one of many.  I don't want to rush through life and miss what You want me to be.  If I don't slow down and learn from You... I'm gonna miss it.

Jesus showed us what real love looks like.  If He is my plumb line, wait.. He IS my plumb line!  I have a long way to go.  One step at a time Lord, teach me how to love.
